COLOSSEUM

The Colosseum is arguably the greatest feat of Roman architecture and engineering still standing today. A coach will take you to the Colosseum and a guide will escort you as you skip the lines of queueing tourists to visit the site once used for public events and the famous gladiatorial battles. You'll then walk through the Roman Forum, originally a market place, where statues and monuments celebrated the great and the good. All students will be given headphones so they won't miss a word of the guides fascinating information.

PANTHEON & TREVI FOUNTAIN

A coach will pick you up from your hotel and take you to three of Rome's most famous artistic sights. During the tour you'll hear about the Baroque movement and how Rome once eclipsed even Paris for its artistic achievements. You'll visit Bernini's masterpiece, the Trevi Fountain fed by an aqueduct bringing water from a natural spring 20km outside the city. You can also throw a coin to ensure you'll return to Rome one day. It's then on to the Pantheon temple, built between 118 and 125 AD, originally pagan, it became a Catholic church in the 7th century. And finally the splendour of Piazza Navona, a celebration of the power of the Roman Empire. Headphones will ensure the students here every word of this excellent tour.

THE VATICAN TOUR

One of the largest museums in the world with over 7 kilometres of galleries housing some of the most important sculptures and Renaissance art including works by Michelangelo, Botticelli & Perugino. With headphones so you can hear every word from your guide you'll then head to St Peter's Basilica, one of the world's largest churches. Then one of the most spectacular of all Renaissancee masterpieces, Michelangelo's 800sq metre fresco in the Sistine Chapel. One of the highlights of any trip.

Unfortunately, it's time to head home, and we'll make sure you don't miss your flight. Your driver will pick you up from outside your accommodation (unless otherwise stated) and take you to the airport.
